Code intelligence
The combined extension runs a Pascal language server and a separate Nexus Script language server. Each owns its documents and analysis.
Nexus Script
For .nxscript, .nxproject, and .nxpackage files, the editor provides:
- Compiler and dialect diagnostics.
- Completion and hover.
- Definition navigation, references, and rename.
- Document/workspace symbols and imported-file links.
- Semantic coloring, folding, and formatting.
Analysis uses the shared Nexus Script compiler and existing source/Live metadata. Unsaved imported documents participate in dependent analysis. Rename follows compiler bindings, including qualified reference segments and composition selectors, and validates edits before returning them.
Select the same targets as the build. Different target selections can legitimately produce different definitions or unresolved-reference diagnostics.
Formatting adjusts indentation and trailing whitespace while preserving literal text and comments. The visual resolved-definition inspector is not part of this editor delivery.
Pascal
NexusLS provides document diagnostics, symbols, navigation, references, completion, routine declaration/implementation navigation, and refactoring services. Its Pascal analysis and project context are separate from the Nexus Script compiler.
Unit lookup depends on the selected project and configured source/search paths. Compiler acceptance and language-server understanding are different checks: build the project to establish compiler correctness.
See Troubleshooting when project units or system sources do not resolve.
