Start a project
The smallest reproducible starting point is the Hello application: one Pascal source file and one Nexus Build description.
The extension also has language-server-backed project creation and Lazarus import commands. These collect project information, obtain a plan from NexusLS, and create the planned files. Review the generated project before building, especially its dependencies, output paths, and compiler settings.
Reuse examples
Nexus Lab contains application examples for native builds, GUI, packages, data, networking, and mobile integration. Examples that import sibling source catalogs require that checkout layout; they are not automatically standalone installed-SDK projects.
Use a matching example as a starting point and retain its notices. Replace application identity and source paths deliberately.
Choose an output directory
For an application, a local build/ directory is convenient. For work on the
Nexus repositories, use the configured external worktree. Build outputs should
not become tracked source or overwrite an installed compiler.
